The Proper Way to Jump Start a Car

It's an unfortunate fact of life that sometimes you will find yourself with a dead battery. When you try to jump start your car, there are some important steps to follow.

Bring the car with the good battery close enough to connect the cables. Turn the car off. Place the red cable clamp on the positive post of the dead battery, and then place the other red clamp on the the good battery's positive post. Place the black clamp on the negative post of the good battery and the black clamp on an unpainted metal surface on the dead battery car.

Start the good battery vehicle, and let it run a couple of minutes. Try to turn over the dead battery car. Remove the cables when the vehicle starts. After you get the vehicle jumped, bring it in to Drivr Motors in Mayfield, KY. You can have the battery checked, and you can get a car battery replacement if needed.
